The First Post :)

So I've been in Kona for a little over 2 days now and it seriously feels like I've been here for weeks. Not that I am super close with many people yet, but the days have seemed so long that it feels like I've been here for a lot longer than I actually have!

God has worked wonderfully while I've been here already, but He didn't wait for me to get to Kona to start revealing Himself to me and blowing my mind! lol In the week before I arrived in Kona I was visiting my good friend Emily in Seattle, WA where she recently moved to be closer to her wonderful fiance Will. :) So one day Emily had to work...the Lord blessed her with a wonderful job, unfortunately that meant a little less time with me. It worked out well though because I got to spend a day with Will getting to know him more. We had a impromtu Bible study in his car and during lunch. It was awesome! One of the things that just stood out to me the most was the fact that God is so HUMBLE!! He humbled himself to us-mere humans who take him for granted-by coming to us as a limited humand and sacrificing himself. He shows his humbleness in HisWord by letting it be bound in a BOOK! The same thing (a book) that holds other words that blaspheme God and preach against him-a BOOK!!! His Words are more than worthy than that!! And He did all that and much much more because He LOVES US! He didn't want us to be separated from Him. He didn't want us to be lost sheep living in constant fear! He wanted us to know of His Goodness, of His Kindness! Of His great LOVE! His Character is shown in His Word that is bound by a book! Yet we are a country of bible obesiety and take His precious Word for granted so often...:(

And that takes me into what i've been learning here.
The first day of orientation was so crazy. And by crazy I mean if that was only orientation I can't wait for what the Holy Spirit has in store when the actual school stuff starts on Monday!! ah!! lol They talked about Kingdom Culture and cultivating that here and now! That Kingdom Culture, living by Kingdom values, is for us NOW!! It's possible NOW!! We believe the Word of God is in fact the Word of God, and when Jesus said something He meant it! The thing that I most connected with was making Jesus my agenda and not trying to fit Him into mine. I go to worka dn school and I believe that's what God has called me to , but I believe there's another perspective and/or lifestyle where Jesus is my CENTER. He's my agenda! I so desire it, and I have more hope than ever that htis is attainable, though I have yet to fully attain it. :)

Today I got a chance to audition to be a vocalist in the prayer room here. It's where I will set aside one hour during the week (or a couple times a week?? i don't really know the details) to be in the prayer room praising Jesus through song!!! isn't that awesome?! I'm so excited for it and feel blessed to have the opportunity to sing to my King! The prayer room here is seen as a place where Jesus is always the center. Isn't that great? A room dedicated to praising our Savior! How glorious, and beautiful, and He's sooo WORTHY of all our praise!

Other than that I'm just seeking the Lord. I had the opportunity to go down to the ocean today and just watch the waves crash. God is teaching me to quiet my thoughts, be still, and know that He is God. To be honest I've struggled with doubt in the past few weeks. And I recognize where the doubt is coming from and I'm battling against it, but it has been hard to go to God sometimes. Please keep me in your prayers for that, and let me know how I can be lifting you up in prayer.

Hawaii is awesome. It was a surprise, but I live in a lava rock field. lol Apparently pretty hawaii is on the other side, but no matter they have done wonders to the landscape on base and it is beautiful!! The trees are super interesting. There's like 3-5 different things growing on them!! nuts!

I've been a little overwhelmed a bit. Just with not knowing many people and trying to reach out. It's a lot of work getting to know people, but God has blessed me very much since even this morning!! :) Please keep praying that I would get connected with people! It's so great to see how God works!!

I love you all! May God peace and joy be with you always!
